Ledgli is built so that your financial information stays on your device. This policy explains, in plain terms, exactly what the app does with your data — and just as importantly, what it never does.
Ledgli only collects information you choose to enter into the app. We never collect this information ourselves — it's typed, spoken, or photographed by you, and it stays in the app's local storage on your device.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Financial entries | Expenses, income, account balances, recurring bills, savings goals, debts, investments, budgets, custom categories |
| Receipt images | Photos you take or choose, attached to an expense or scanned for auto-fill |
| Voice input | Audio you record for voice-entry, converted to text on your device and then discarded |
| App security | A PIN and an optional security question/answer you set to lock the app |
| Preferences | Theme, currency, and other in-app settings |
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or any other personal identifier, unless you choose to type it into a note or category name yourself.
Ledgli requests the following permissions, each used for a specific feature and nothing else:
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Camera | Taking a photo of a receipt to attach to an expense or scan for auto-fill |
| Photo Library | Choosing an existing photo of a receipt instead of taking a new one |
| Microphone | Recording your voice when you use voice entry |
| Speech Recognition | Converting your voice recording into text, on-device |
| Notifications | Reminding you a recurring bill is due, based on a schedule you set |
Every permission is optional — the app works without granting any of them, just with reduced functionality (for example, no receipt scanning without Camera access). You can review or revoke any permission at any time in your device's Settings app.
Your information is used solely to provide the app's functionality to you: calculating totals, generating reports and charts, pre-filling a form from a scanned receipt or spoken sentence, tracking a savings goal's progress, and reminding you about upcoming bills. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose beyond running the app you asked it to run.
Local storage. By default, all of your data is stored in the app's private storage area on your device, inaccessible to other apps.
iCloud backup (optional, automatic). If enabled, Ledgli stores its data files in your personal iCloud Drive, under your own Apple ID. This uses your own iCloud storage allowance and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not this one — we never receive a copy of anything stored there. If iCloud isn't available or enabled, the app automatically continues using local-only storage.
Manual backup. You can export all of your data as a single file at any time. That file is created on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet — where it goes next (Files, email, AirDrop, etc.) is entirely your choice. We do not receive, see, or store this file.
Ledgli does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or cloud AI service. The only outside systems involved are Apple's own on-device frameworks and, if you enable it, Apple's iCloud:
None of these send your data to us or to any other third party.
Your data is retained on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you delete individual entries yourself. You can permanently erase all app data at once using the Delete Account option in Settings. If you've enabled iCloud backup, deleting the app or its data locally does not automatically remove a copy that may still exist in your iCloud account — you can manage or delete that separately through your device's iCloud settings.
Ledgli includes an optional PIN lock with a recovery security question. Your PIN and security answer are stored only on your device. Because your financial data is not transmitted to or stored on any server we operate, it is not exposed to the kinds of server-side data breaches that affect cloud-based apps. Standard iOS app sandboxing further isolates Ledgli's data from other apps on your device.
Ledgli is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age required by applicable law to manage their own personal finance information without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and since the app doesn't collect data on our servers at all, there is no server-side data from any user, child or otherwise, for us to hold.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to know what data is processed about you. Because Ledgli stores your data locally on your own device (and, if you choose, in your own iCloud account) rather than on servers we control, you already have direct, complete access to export or delete it at any time using the in-app tools described above. If you have questions about how these rights apply to your use of Ledgli, contact us using the details below.
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note it within the app. Continued use of Ledgli after a change means you accept the updated policy.
